who we are

we are milly & associates

We’re strategists who don’t do strategy as you know it. We build an interactive experience where every voice is heard and everyone in your team plays a part. The result is a strategy that is owned and executed across the organisation.

In a world where poverty still exists, the environment is taking a bashing, diseases prevail and inequalities continue we aim to work with those organisations who take on these battles for the rest of us.

Tibet Relief Fund worked with Milly and Associates to develop an organisational strategy following a restructure. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Milly and we all found the process exciting, positive and immensely motivating. The structure of the workshops were fun and inclusive so we all felt fully part of the development. I greatly valued the assessments and feedback from Milly and that she always took time to go through outcomes and recommendations with me.

What we now have is a really practical strategy with mechanisms to monitor and adapt what was set out. We have subsequently worked with Milly to look at our fundraising and digital development and will continue to use Milly and Associates for further developmental work.

Milly Lawrence

Consultant, Founder

Milly has worked in the charity sector for more than 24 years to significant acclaim: she was the first BME, first woman and youngest ever person to be voted in Civil Society’s top 10 Most Influential in Fundraising.

Her career started at ActionAid, where after 6 years she well and truly fell in love with the sector. She went on to hold the position of Joint Managing Director for two fundraising agencies during which she led the charge in innovating new forms of fundraising. Latterly she was Unicef’s first ever Strategist where implementation of the fundraising strategy saw an income increase from £72M to £100M in just two years.

More recently Milly served as Client Services Director at creative agency Open. And largely due to a long period of insomnia and a realisation that internet poker was not the way to go Milly also has a BSC honours in Law and completed the Legal Practise Course through attending night school at the College of Law and BPP. It cured the insomnia.
